TranceZenDance: Video and reviews
The 7th Generation speaks.
Review by Eric Dez
This group of multi-talented musicians and poets are the text book example of what this new style of conscious music is. My first experience transcending and transforming with Trancezendance was at Earthdance Northern California 2006. It was the first night of the festival and it was cold, I mean real cold (for me anyway, what can I say I from Miami). My warmth grew quick as I began to bounce to this cosmic groove emanating from the stage.
I was so captivated by this futurediginous sound that I was compelled to see what it was made of. I grooved my way to the front of stage and what did I see? A theatrical presentation including jaw harps, didgerdoos, hand drums, sax, trumpet, flutes guitar, harmonicas, steel drums, a drumkit, male and female vocalists, poets, and rappers too! Wow! Was this a treat.
TZD were layin down an electro acoustic synthesis of organic jazzy ethno tribal aboriginal cosmic funk with super elevated conscious lyrics and themes. I never heard a music like this, at least not this multidimensional.
I bought a CD on the spot, they had a few to choose from, so I made sure to hum the tune I like the most to the guy at the merchandise table, and he sang it back to me and handed me the Metamorphosis CD, The song was POD, at the gig the drummer was playing and leaning over into a mic chanting “I could be Krishna I could be Rama, I could be Isis or the Dali Lama…..I could be Yemaya or Sun Ra. This track is just Slamming; I just had to have it.
The musicians on this record are phenomenal, the bass is extra tasty and the flutes add a renaissance vibe, the track boomerang is a good example of this as well as the diversity of styles this band is capable of, this track is like old world Caribbean blues cultural fusion.
The poetry is sincere, passionate and educational, speaking from the higher self of the poet to us. The rapping is very entertaining and educating as well. The lyrics are current and clever. Revolution has great rap and poetry. Check this one…”War in the middle east - the middle ages, middle America fighting itself for a chance to be seen on he big screen, this revolution will not be televised.” Then he goes to say “I say we fill our guns full of love and we shoot for a new dream”. The spoken word opens with:
Our language,
Our language of creation,
Language of liberation,
We speak into that space
That we call the now
As we allow
To let truth
Teach us how.
When I am driving alone in my car and my internal dialogue gets away from me, I put on Metamorphosis and it raises my vibration and keeps my mind focused on higher conscious grooves that not only move but remove (ya dig). It is full of conscious language and positive uplifting messages and information while being very cutting edge as well as musically today,... I mean tomorrow, I mean yesterday.
Metamorphosis is a timeless multi galacta-dimensional harmonic fusion of world grooves, timeless wisdom, and pure passion, it's like a few thosand years of musical DNA memory jamming all at once. This CD expresses the feelings and points of view of the 7th generation and how we see the current state of the world and its inhabitants, and what needs to change moving forward. "we change the world as we change our mind..."
Namaste,
Eric

Tranzendance is more than a musical act, they are a theatrical experience.
Their eclectic stage show is a state of the art emotive journey from
evocative prayerformance and ritual theater to trance inducing tribal beats.
Their successful blend of organic instruments with electronic production and
powerful vocals has created a fresh new sound that represents the cutting
edge of the newly emerging "conscious" music genre, where positive messages
of global unity and sustainability are as important as the music. Think
Thievery Corporation meets Dead Can Dance with the poetic overtones of
Laurie Anderson and you might get a hint of what TZD has in store.
